Well Hi there everyone,
This is Elizabeth Hayden. I am so happy to be enrolled in in Technology 560, I feel there is a wealth of new knowledge for me to learn.
I received my undergrad degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago. Upon completion of my undergrad program I began working in a preschool program. During my third year at the preschool, I came to know a boy who was being screened in order to receive special education services. I grew quite fond of working with this little boy and began to pursue working with students with special needs. My new found desire brought me to Camelot, this is a therapeutic day school that provides services to students with special needs. After working at Camelot for two years I decided to take my passion for students with special needs further and enrolled in Dominican's Masters of Special Education program. Currently I am starting my second year in the SPED program. Due to the very long commute, I no longer work at Camelot. I now work for Glenwood Academy, which like Camelot is a school designed specifically for students with special needs. At Glenwood I work in a second and third grade split classroom with students who are ED/BD. I am passionate about the students I work with, and I am passionate about my future career choice. Further, I am very excited to learn how to integrate technology into the classroom in order to enhance students learning.
Elizabeth education is very fortunate to have you! While all students need an advocate students with special needs need an advocate that is truly passionate! I'm excited to be able to expose you to many new tools that will help you reach your students and peak their interest using technology.
